Summary: The Perfect Kettle
Comment: I research a lot before buying a product. I'd seen other kettles at $50 and $60, they seemed cheap. I also read reviews about stange smells, both metallic and plastic coming from their kettles. Who wants that? I went down to the local Target to look at this one. It is well constructed and cordless. The cordless feature is great. The chrome looks great and fits into any kitchen. Heats up quickly even with cold water right out of the Pur water filter in the frig. Shuts itself off shortly after reaching boiling temperature. No strange odors. You'd be crazy to pay more. Don't hesitate to make this purchase.

Summary: Great choice to get you into hot water
Comment: I originally bought this pot from a Target store. I liked it so much I bought three more, one for each daughter and one for my mother in law. I've had others in the past, but this has a great hand feel and is easy to pour. It also seems quicker than the last one I had. The finish is great and goes well with my new steel appliances.

Summary: Love it, don't know how I lived without it.
Comment: After much thought and debate (would it just be another unnecessary
junk appliance that took up space in my kitchen?) I bought this.
I love it, I use it constantly. It makes me use my microwave alot less.
Heats up fast, shuts off when the water is boiling. Simple and
foolproof.

Summary: Good value for $$$
Comment: I've owned about a half dozen electric kettles over the years. My watchword: the simpler, the better. Since these kettles don't do much except boil water, what can get complicated? Well, one kettle (a Black & Decker)broke a piece off the top-- out it went. My most recent one was also the longest lasting AND cheapest:a 1.7 liter Proctor Silex. OK, it's plastic . . . but I never noticed it imparted a plastic-y taste to the water. The electrical contact was simpler than on kettles that allow you to seat the pot a full 360 degrees; the P-S base was more like an electrical outlet the kettle plugged into . . . a design I liked since it, unlike other kettles, NEVER BROKE. But last week the plastic filter which snaps inside the spout fell off and right onto the heating coil. Another dead kettle. I was ready to buy the same one but saw that the Aroma cost only a few bucks more and is more attractive. The black Proctor Silex looks a bit like Darth Vader's coffee mug. Can't say how long the Aroma will last. On the whole, my kettles have lasted about a year before something goes wrong (the Proctor lasted longer . . . nearly two years). One reviewer noted the top on the Aroma is hard to close. Not really, and besides, the seal is what makes the pressure switch work to shut off the kettle, as I discovered when another kettle -- a Melita -- fried itself because the top wasn't quite closed. So give me a few months with the Aroma and we'll see how it holds up.

Summary: Best Hot Water Kettle Ever
Comment: This is a wonderful little kettle. It heats hot water quietly and in an instant and readily detaches from the heating base. And it looks so much nicer than the white plastic instant kettles that are so common. I liked it so much I bought a second one for my office.

Editorial Reviews:

1.5-liter capacity. Easy cordless pouring with the patented Strix electric connector. Tea, instant coffee, hot chocolate, noodles and more are easily made almost anywhere with this electric kettle.
