Customer Rating: Summary: Wonderful Holiday Fare...... Comment: This is a darling movie. I love the content and the settings are fantastic. I have watched it over and over now for last holiday season and this holiday season. Never get tired of it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Thoroughly Enjoyable Romantic Comedy! Comment: This is one of my all-time favorite films. It's tender, funny, romantic and all with a happy ending that you don't mind watching over and over again! The Holiday (2006) [Blu-ray] has great stars who all come off as likeable and interesting. Jude Law is at his sexiest in this one, even with Cameron Diaz as his love interest. Cameron's character was the one I liked the least, but even her acting (or lack of...) couldn't come close to ruining this one for me. Jack Black isn't his usual goofy guy, but rather a gentle 'good guy' who befriends the lovely Kate Winslet while she's on 'holiday' retreating from an impossible love affair.
Sweet and charming, this film is a wonderful date movie or chick flick for any time of the year.
Customer Rating: Summary: I NEVER received this item!!! Comment: I ordered The Holiday weeks ago and it never arrived in time for Christmas. What do I do????
Customer Rating: Summary: How could you not love this movie? Comment: I have to say that I was not to thrilled to see this movie for one reason--Cameron Diaz. Just not a fan. However, I gave in to the peer pressure and I watched it, and loved it! Cameron was awesome! Jude Law was so sweet and warm, Kate Winslet was so real and very charming and (in my opinion) this was Jack Black's best role! He was adorable! Someone you would take home to meet your parents! Of course everything ends, "Happily Ever After," but at Christmas, how can you not love a movie like that?
If you haven't seen it and you like romantic comedies, you're truly missing out!
Customer Rating: Summary: Watchable over & over again! Comment: The Holiday is a warm movie that has tinctures of compassionate and caring threads woven in - such as kate's friendship with an octogenarian neighbor. The quaint english cottage is tiny and adorable - especially the bathtub bathroom, the shmaltzy voice of cameron's subconscious is a hilarious detail and the snow driven english countryside is evocative of the classic xmas card scenes. I found jack black miscast and unbelievable as cameron's ex though he did a creditable job throughout. The movie shows women redrawing their relationship boundaries into a healthier shape, as more self love and positive energy shines through. A great feel good movie!

In Nancy Meyers' The Holiday, a romantic comedy from the director of Something's Gotta Give and What Women Want, two women trade homes only to find that a change of address can change their lives. Iris (Winslet) is in love with a man who is about to marry another woman. Across the globe, Amanda (Diaz), realizes the man she lives with has been unfaithful. Two women who have never met and live 6000 miles apart, find themselves in the exact same place. They meet online at a home exchange website and impulsively switch homes for the holiday. Iris moves into Amanda's L.A. house in sunny California as Amanda arrives in the snow covered English countryside. Shortly after arriving at their destinations, both women find the last thing either wants or expects: a new romance. Amanda is charmed by Iris' handsome brother Graham (Law) and Iris, with inspiration provided by legendary screenwriter Arthur (Wallach), mends her heart when she meets film composer Miles (Black).
